Motivation Monday

Hello and welcome to our new feature, Motivation Monday. We posted about our new blog line up the other day, together with news of our street team, Romaniac Sparklers. Click HERE if you missed it.

In the meantime, a few of us have already made our ‘to do’ list for the week. We would love it if you could join in too, it doesn’t have to be anything huge, just something you want to get done that week. All you have to do is leave a comment below.

Motivation Monday

Sue :

  1. To write three chapters.
  2. To successfully negotiate the first week back at school by remembering all the after-school clubs that are starting back up and packing the appropriate equipment/kit for not only the right club but the right child.

  1. Get up extra early on Monday to wish DS a happy birthday, before we all go our separate ways for the day.
  2. Be at my desk ready to write from 09:00 Mon-Thurs.
  3. Write 5000 words by Friday evening.
  4. Plan talk for the Weymouth Leviathan and Maritime Festival.
  5. Have earlier nights to allow for reading time.

We’ll meet again on Friday to find out how we all did.

Have a great week.

  1. I’m editing this week so it’s hard to be specific but here goes
    1. Add character flaw to mc and weave into novel
    2. Work through notes on editing made over Christmas Hols
    3. Say no to dog walking with friends (eats away at my writing time too much)
    4. Remain patient with kids as we get back into school routine

  2. An excellent idea! My goal this week is to write AT LEAST 1,000 words a day and preferably 1,2000 – no internet until that’s done! (Managed it today, whoop …)

  3. […] Speaking of which, The Romaniacs, a writing support group of which I am a member, has introduced its new schedule for 2016, kicking off with Motivation Monday. It’s a chance to list our weekly goals so we can work toward achieving them by Friday. We’re asking you all to join in, so we can encourage and support one another, and celebrate everyone’s successes, major and minor. Please hop over to find out more. Click here. […]

  4. 1. Write 5,000 words of WIP by Sunday evening.
    2. Finish Pinterest board for my novella.
    3. Tidy up blog for Thursday.
    4. Catch up on notes so I can start a batch of new ones!

  5. The fact I haven’t got here until Monday afternoon says it all. Here’s my list:
    (1) Continue with WIP and write the #meetcute scene where hero and heroine bump into each other, literally.
    (2) Hold RNA Chapter Meeting on Friday and take photos
    (3) Publish second part of blog – My 2015 in photos.
    (4) Don;t go mad !!

  6. 1. Stay calm as my debut novel is published next Monday and there is a lot of organisation to do, even though my publishers are hosting the launch party (13 Jan, London, you might fancy it).
    2. Practise reading the extracts out loud so I don’t stumble over my own words.
    3. Don’t drive family mad with increasing attacks of nerves!
