Sue : Which notebook next? Probably the dragonfly one my daughter decorated for me.Laura: I love the chunkiness of this notebook. It’s my short stories idea book.Celia: The big one has my whole writing life inside.Vanessa: I have four notebooks on the go for my current work-in-progress!Lucie’s selection, from the plain to the prettyGuess who? Shh. Don’t tell the other Romaniacs, but I’m sneaking this one in, too. It’s from a superb Times/Jodi Picoult event I attended in June this year. I’m going to use this notebook when I write book 5.

I love my notebooks. I have one I carry everywhere and use to record ideas and other important thoughts. I use the other one as a journal to record goals, progress and things I am thankful for.
If I know I’ll be spending time parked up, waiting for my children, I’ll take a notebook with me, but if something pops into my head when I’m without, I type it into the notes section of my phone. There are so many plot hole realisations, storylines, characters and title ideas on there … Thanks for dropping by. Laura 🙂
Oo – I like the thought of having different bags, April. I wonder if we can extend that idea to different boots and jackets – dressing up to set the mood for each particular story … Laura 🙂
I probably should have explained that that’s a notebook in my commute backpack and a notebook in my handbag and a notebook on my kitchen table, but there is a certain amount of appeal in colour co-ordination.
What a pretty selection! I love the notebooks I’ve been given, and, like novels, I still daydream about buying more (my husband won’t let me in Staples … just kidding). To tell the truth, I have LOADS, but I just can’t bring myself to write in any but the plainest. Sigh……

Me too! Trouble is, they’re too beautiful to scrawl in! Love these, ladies. 🙂 xx
I have a few tucked away that I’m yet to write in, Sheryl, but I tend to use the most appealing ones first 😀 Laura xx
I have a mega collection of them of different size and hue. Love them. Cherish them. Can’t live without them x
We hear you, Yasmin. We hear you. Laura 😀 x
I carry different notebooks in different bags. It’s a shame just carrying the notebook doesn’t give you ideas.
I loved all of yours.

My next one is a chunky notebook with a suede cover – a present from my daughter!
